If you want some great entertainment, watch a Star Wars film. I can’t think of a better Sci-Fi series than Star Wars.

Starwars III, the Revenge of the Sith is the last installment of the six films. The special effects in this film are amazing, so much so that abeven if you didn’t understand anything about the story, you would still have a good time watching it.

This film shows how the young Anakin Skywalker transforms into the dreaded Darth Vader. I don’t want to give away too much before you see the film, but I must say that the film is well done.

Instead of commenting on the film and giving away some spoilers, I thought it would be fun to write about some interesting trivia about the Star Wars series.

For instance, did you know that the visual effects crew studied elephants in order to design the Imperial Walkers from “The Empire Strikes Back?”

Did you know that according to Star Wars legend, Ilum crystals were the substance that powered the lightsabers?

Also did you know that Albert Einstein’s eyes were the inspiration for creature designer Stuart Freeborn when he created Yoda’s eyes? Tons of Star Wars trivia can be found online and it is truly fascinating to read through some of it.

Also, there are some interesting sound effects used in the Star Wars films. The Imperial Walkers sounds were really squeaky trash dumpster lids. The Starfighters’ sounds were made by speeding World War II propeller aircrafts. And Jabba the Hutt’s movements’ sounds were really a wet towel rubbed in mud!

I do have to say that the latest film is probably the most violent of them all and might not be appropriate for young children to watch. Also, I found the film’s worldview to be very existentialistic, which was a bit troubling to me. For instance one of the lines is that “Only a Sith [the bad guys] deal in absolutes.” Of course if that were true, why would Yoda fight it? How could he insist that they were wrong, if there were no absolutes?

Outside of its philosophy and the violence, I have no hesitation on saying that this would be one of the best films that you could see this summer.
