Life At The Top, Not As Easy As It Seems
The film provokes an interesting point: Have we gone too far by being so celebrity obsessed as a culture that we would support such media through purchase of their publications?
I asked a Los Angeles based top notch publicist about the paparazzi. Her view is that most paparazzi aren’t that way, and most of them actually help launch the careers of rising stars.
If you are interested in seeing how this film is truly based on reality, you
might want to check out Dick Guttman’s testimony before the United States House
of Representatives House Committee on Judiciary concerning the negative impact
this intrusive pursuit has on some actors. Guttman heads up the huge Los Angeles
entertainment publicity firm, Guttman and Associates. You can read his testimony
at www.house.gov/judiciary/10150.htm
The worst type of paparazzi are featured in Mel Gibson’s latest action packed film. Bo Laramie (Cole Hauser) is excited at becoming an “A list” movie star. What he isn’t prepared for is the intrusion into his personal life, especially when his family is threatened. What the paparazzi didn’t count on is that Bo takes matters into his own hands — and soon the hunter (the paparazzi) becomes the hunted.
