Fifty First Dates in Theater
One day he meets Lucy, a high school art teacher, at a local hangout. He strikes up a conversation, and bingo -- the two fall in love. They agree to meet each other the next day. A big surprise is waiting for him when Lucy totally ignores him like he is a stranger and doesn’t even seem to remember him.
Henry discovers that Lucy and her dad had been in a car wreck and that Lucy lost all her short-term memory. She can only remember the present day, and events prior to the accident. She lives under the illusion that every day is the day that she stepped in the car. Bu the following day, she has forgotten everything. It is now Henry’s job to make her fall in love with him every day for the rest of his life.
If you like Hawaii, this is definitely the film to see. It has some of the most beautiful scenery I’ve seen recently. Fifty Dates is definitely a romantic comedy, and is in general, a good film. But some of the themes and language might not be appropriate for the younger generation.
Fifty First Dates stars Adam Sandler as Henry and Drew Barrymore as Lucy. Henry lives in Hawaii and is the ultimate single playboy. His basic theme in life: “love them and leave them, a pity, if it grieves them." He has left a string of broken hearts all over the United States, and a string of phony stories as well. The fact is that Henry is an arctic marine-life veterinarian in a place like Seaworld.
